Corrections Policy

Accuracy matters most when people rely on a guide to stay safe. Here’s how mistakes get fixed.

How to report an error

Use the Contact page and include:

  • the title of the guide or the page address;
  • what you think is wrong or out of date;
  • a source that supports your point, if you have one.

Please never include card numbers, codes, PINs, passwords or other sensitive financial information.

What we do with a report

  1. We check it against primary sources, such as official agency guidance and the terms of the product in question.
  2. If the guide is wrong or misleading, we fix it and update its date.
  3. If a correction changes the advice in a meaningful way, we say so at the end of the guide.
  4. Small fixes, like typos and broken links, are made quietly.

Safety first

An error that could lead someone to enter card details on an unsafe site, or to skip a protective step, is treated as the most important kind of correction and goes to the front of the line.

What we can’t do

We can’t investigate individual transactions or accounts, or confirm whether a particular website or card is genuine. For those, contact your card issuer using the number printed on your card.
